Planned Parenthood- Making Proud Choices!
Planned Parenthood of Michigan believes that people of all ages have the right to learn about their sexuality and develop skills to make healthy decisions about their bodies and relationships. Whether you are a health and human services professional, teacher, religious leader, parent/caregiver or trusted adult, student, or concerned citizen, PPMI can design, deliver, and evaluate educational sessions that are customized to meet the needs of your learners.
Our experienced educators tailor each training session or presentation to the needs of the audience.
Training & Consultation
Experienced facilitators offer up-to-date training to build knowledge, skills, curricula, and educational resources. Youth workers, students, health professionals, community and religious leaders, social workers, teachers, and administrators all benefit from training and consulting services.
As a nonprofit agency, PPMI is funded by grants, program fees, and contributions. We offer some programs for free. For other programs, we ask $150/hour for education presentations and $300/hour for professional trainings. Schedule a training by emailing the Flint Community Outreach Educator, email@example.com, or Education Manager, firstname.lastname@example.org.
Trained educators present to classes, support groups, health fairs, community gatherings, organizations, workshops, and/or conferences. We table at health fairs and other events. We serve on local advisory committees, councils, and national networks that promote reproductive health, education, and access.
Planned Parenthood of Michigan has been awarded funding to provide the evidence-based Making Proud Choices! curriculum through the Taking Pride in Prevention (TPIP) initiative of the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services. TPIP is a comprehensive sexuality education program that engages youth between the ages of 12 and 18. The goal of the program is to reduce the rate of teen pregnancy and STIs in Michigan.
If you work with young people who might be interested in receiving this program or would like more information, please email email@example.com or call (734) 926-6455. We offer this program for free in the Flint and Genesee County area.
You can also find additional information on TPIP at the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services website.
