Flint Mission Network Programs
It is the goal of our ministries to proclaim the Gospel, empower neighbors, and lift one another up.
We accomplish these goals by offering compassion care ministries, skill-developing programs, and Gospel-centered teaching.
We have two campuses; our main campus on the Eastside of Flint is Franklin Avenue Mission. Our newest location is on the Northside of Flint, called York Avenue Mission.
We provide a variety of services to families and individuals in the community. Our main campus, Franklin Avenue Mission, has programming for basic needs and skill-development programs. These programs include:
FAM Diner- every Tuesday and Thursday, a hot meal is served to the community
Personals Closet- First Tuesday of the month, people can receive personal hygiene items for themselves and their families.
Luke Clinic- In partnership with the Luke Clinic, we offer a free prenatal clinic on the second and fourth Wednesday of the month. UofM Ann Arbor Doctors run the clinic, so patients receive top-quality care along with supplies, food, and education they need to support their babies.
Mercy House- In partnership with Wellspring Lutheran Services, offers a transitional home for Mothers and their children to live up to a year. They receive support and education during their time there, so at the end of their stay, they are moving into their place and are prepared and able to provide for themselves and their families.
Custodial Training Program- Individuals are hired part-time at the mission to be trained under our head custodian to learn the ins and outs of custodial work. They are also paired with a mentor who will work with them weekly to overcome obstacles that have prevented them from retaining employment. The program lasts for three months, and after graduation, individuals will have new skill sets and letters of recommendation from the mission along with support while they find full-time employment.
Kids programming- Tuesday and Thursday before the FAM Diner starts, we offer kids programming for our kids to come and play or receive homework help. On Tuesday, Kids programming starts at four and goes till 5 pm (when dinner is then served), and Thursday, from 3:30-5 (until dinner is served)
Our second campus, York Avenue Mission, offers
Food Pantry- individuals can get canned and boxed foods, meat, and milk. Every Thursday from 10-1 pm.
Clothes closet and personal hygiene- Available Thursdays from 10-1 pm. Individuals can get clothing and hygiene items for themselves and their families every Thursday.
Community Dinner- On the third Wednesday of every month, individuals and families can come to get a hot meal. Doors open at 4 meal is served at 5 pm.
