Sandcastles Grief Support

Ages Served

SandCastles offers grief support to children, teens, and families who have experienced the death of a loved one. We work as a preventative program to help children and teens learn how to grieve and cope with their loss in a constructive and healthy way. Expressing thoughts and emotions in a supportive environment builds self-esteem in children and strengthens their ability to make positive life choices now and as adults. Learn more at our website!

SERVICES WE OFFER:

Navigators Program – Our 8-week program is a weekly series that is carefully
crafted to equip both children and adults with the tools
they need to work through their grief. Age-specific
educational activities allow peers to bond and build
supportive relationships while honoring and learning
from each other’s unique stories and grief experiences.

Connections Groups – Connections sessions offer ongoing in-person support to
families at different locations throughout southeast
Michigan as well as virtually throughout the year. Groups
meet bi-weekly for families to process their grief and
cope through life’s many seasons.

SandCastles Camp – An annual weekend experience dedicated to helping
grieving children and teens to heal and feel understood.
Camp activities are created to help campers deal with
difficult emotions, honor their loved one, and connect
with their peers who have similar experiences.

Family Community – SandCastles offers opportunities to get together in
community at specialized grief events, workshops, and presentations.

Enrollment is done completely over the phone and our services are all offered free-of-charge to families when they need us most.
