Genesee County residents invited to enjoy a free movie night to promote mental wellness, family connection, and local resources.
DAVISON TOWNSHIP, Mich. — The Genesee County Prevention Coalition (GCPC) is proud to partner with Davison Township Parks and Recreation for their Youth Action Council’s Mental Health Movie Night. The GCPC Youth Action Council is hosting the free, family-friendly community event on Friday, August 7, 2026 at Lake Callis, located at 1152 N. Gale Road in Davison Township. Doors will open at 7 p.m., with the featured movie, Hoppers, beginning at 9 p.m.
The youth have led this event to bring families together while encouraging conversations around mental health. Before the movie, the event will feature community mental health resources, games, activities, and entertainment for families to enjoy. The GCPC Youth Action Council is a group of young leaders dedicated to promoting substance misuse prevention, advocacy, and positive change throughout Genesee County. Through youth-led initiatives, council members work to reduce stigma and focus on creating opportunities for young people and their families to access wellness resources.
The use of Lake Callis facilities is sponsored by Davison Township and Parks, allowing Mental Health Movie Night to be a meaningful experience that is accessible and inclusive to Genesee County youth. Davison Township Parks and Recreation’s sponsorship reflects a shared commitment with the Genesee County Prevention Coalition to supporting healthy youth development and fostering community spaces where residents can connect.
